About Course

A continuing education program for answering business questions with relational data. You progress from simple queries to combined datasets, reusable analyses and a documented investigation for your portfolio.

Who it is for

Spreadsheet users moving into data analysis, junior analysts and technology students. No programming experience required.

What you will achieve

  • Query structured data directly and reduce reliance on repeated manual exports.
  • Spot duplicate joins and misleading metrics, making your analyses more reliable.
  • Build a portfolio repository with queries, assumptions and business conclusions.

Courses in the program

The program combines 4 eight-hour courses in sequence, for a total of 32 hours.

SQL101 · 8 h

Queries and Relational Data

Use filters, sorting and aggregations while interpreting table structure and missing values.

SQL102 · 8 h

Joins and Business Analysis

Combine datasets safely, define metrics and diagnose duplicates and relationship errors.

SQL103 · 8 h

Analytical Queries and Quality

Use CTEs and window functions, test query logic and explain performance trade-offs.

SQL104 · 8 h

Commercial Analysis Project

Investigate revenue and retention in fictional data, document your queries and present recommendations.

Planned distribution: 10 h of guided instruction + 14 h of structured practice + 8 h of graded activities. These components are already included in the total hours.

How you are assessed

  • Complete the sequence of courses and the core exercises
  • Submit the program’s final project
  • Score at least 70% on assessments and on the project rubric
  • One project feedback and revision cycle is included

Professional relevance

A foundation for data analysis work; not a complete data scientist or database administrator program. We do not promise employment, salary or a hiring date.

External costs

Uses free tools (a SQLite or PostgreSQL database and a free SQL editor). There are no required external costs.
