Who it is for

Learners who have completed the NCL program, or equivalent experience, and want a complete, realistic no-code portfolio project.

Prerequisites

NCL101 to NCL106, or equivalent skills in no-code tool selection, data modeling, app building, automation, AI features and governance.

What you will be able to do

  • Scope a no-code solution around a real business need with measurable success criteria.
  • Deliver a working app on a documented data model with at least two automations.
  • Apply testing, security and governance practices appropriate to the data involved.
  • Hand over the solution with a user guide, runbook and evidence of its impact.

Lessons

  • Lesson 1 · Project brief and scope
  • Lesson 2 · Milestones and method
  • Lesson 3 · Quality checklist and common mistakes
  • Lesson 4 · Deliverables, rubric and submission

Lab: A no-code solution for a real business need

Over four milestones you will scope the need, design the data and process, build and test the app and automations, and prepare the handover. Work with a real business you own, work for or have permission to help, and use test data until the solution is reviewed.

Free tools: Your choice of free tools from the program, such as Google Sheets or Airtable, Glide, Softr or AppSheet, n8n self-hosted, Tally or Google Forms and diagrams.net

Assessed assignment

Build and submit a no-code solution for a real business need. Your submission must include a one-page project brief, a process map and data model, a working app with at least four screens and two roles, at least two automations with error handling, a test log, a governance sheet (inventory entry, access, backup and limits), a short user guide, a runbook and a reflection. Include before-and-after evidence, such as time saved or errors avoided, measured or carefully estimated.

Criterion Weight What excellent work looks like
Need and scope 20% The business need, users and success criteria are explicit, and the scope is realistic for the tools and time available.
Design and build 35% The data model is sound, the app is usable on a phone and automations work reliably with error handling.
Quality and governance 25% Testing covers normal, edge and failure cases, and access, privacy, backup and limits are addressed.
Handover and impact 20% The user guide and runbook let others use and maintain the solution, and impact evidence is honest.

Portfolio piece

A complete no-code solution case study, including brief, process map, data model, working app, automations, governance sheet, guides and impact evidence, ready for your portfolio.

Self-paced, 12-month access. Questions are answered in writing through the student panel. A completion record is issued when you finish the course.
