Who it is for

Founders, product managers and freelancers who have a validated problem and need to decide how the product will make money.

Prerequisites

ENT102 or equivalent evidence from customer interviews about your problem.

What you will be able to do

  • Complete a Lean Canvas that connects segments, problem, value proposition and revenue streams
  • Compare at least three revenue models and select one with a written rationale
  • Calculate CAC, LTV, gross margin and payback period in a spreadsheet model
  • Design a three-tier pricing page with a clear value metric and test plan

Lessons

  • Lesson 1 · Business models and revenue streams
  • Lesson 2 · Unit economics that matter
  • Lesson 3 · Pricing based on value
  • Lesson 4 · Lab and assignment

Lab: Lean Canvas and unit-economics model

You fill a Lean Canvas for your venture and build a Google Sheets model that calculates contribution margin, customer lifetime value, acquisition cost and payback from editable assumptions. You then run three scenarios (pessimistic, base and optimistic) to see which assumptions matter most.

Free tools: Google Sheets (free) and FigJam free plan or Google Slides

Assessed assignment

Submit your Lean Canvas, your unit-economics spreadsheet and a one-page pricing proposal. The proposal must state your chosen revenue model, your value metric, three tiers with prices and included features, and the reasoning behind each price. Include a sensitivity table showing how LTV-to-CAC changes when churn and price vary. Finish with a plan to test the price with at least five real prospects.

Criterion Weight What excellent work looks like
Lean Canvas coherence 20% Every box is specific and the segments, problem, value proposition and channels clearly connect to each other.
Unit-economics model 30% Formulas are correct, assumptions are labeled and sourced, and scenarios reveal the most sensitive variables.
Pricing design 30% Tiers are anchored on a sensible value metric, prices are justified by customer value and cost floor, and the upgrade path is clear.
Test plan 20% The plan names who will see the price, how willingness to pay will be measured and what result would change the price.

Portfolio piece

A Lean Canvas, a reusable unit-economics spreadsheet and a pricing proposal for your venture.

Self-paced, 12-month access. Questions are answered in writing through the student panel. A completion record is issued when you finish the course.
