Lab: A landing page for a local service

You will build a landing page for a sample mobile bike-repair service, from goal and wireframe to a published page on a free subdomain. The page will include a hero section, benefits, how-it-works steps, testimonials, FAQs and a booking request form, and you will test it on a phone and with a free speed checker.

Free tools: Carrd (free plan), Google Sites (free) or WordPress.com (free plan); Google Forms or Tally for the form

Assessed assignment

Create and publish a landing page for a real or realistic small business offer. Write a one-paragraph page brief (goal, audience, call to action), sketch a wireframe and build the page with a free no-code builder. Connect a working form, add a page title and description for search, include a short privacy note and test the page on mobile. Submit the live link, the brief, the wireframe and a short test report.

Criterion Weight What excellent work looks like
Goal and message 25% The page has one clear goal and call to action, and the headline states a specific benefit for a defined audience.
Structure and copy 25% Sections follow a logical order, copy is concise and benefit-led and objections are handled in FAQs or proof.
Build quality 30% The page is responsive, readable, accessible (contrast, alt text, headings) and the form works and confirms submission.
Readiness 20% SEO title and description, privacy note and a test report covering mobile view, speed and form are included.

Portfolio piece

A published landing page with its brief, wireframe and test report, showing you can deliver a complete web page without code.

Self-paced, 12-month access. Questions are answered in writing through the student panel. A completion record is issued when you finish the course.
