About Course

Go from how the web works to a tested, deployed full-stack app for a real small business.

This self-paced program takes you through the complete stack of modern web and mobile development, from HTTP, HTML and CSS to JavaScript, React, Node.js APIs, relational databases and cross-platform mobile apps with Expo. Every course ends with a hands-on lab and a portfolio piece built with free tools on your own computer. The later courses focus on testing, defensive security and continuous deployment, so what you build is ready for real users. The program closes with a final project: a complete application for a small-business process of your choice.

60 hours · 9 courses, from Explore to Advance, ending with a final project · Certificate of completion · 12-month access

Course Content

WEB101 · How the Web Works (4 h)
Understand what really happens between typing an address and seeing a page: networks, DNS, HTTP, browsers and servers. You will inspect real traffic with free browser tools and explain it in plain language.

  • Lesson 1 · From address bar to server
  • Lesson 2 · HTTP, HTTPS and the conversation between browser and server
  • Lesson 3 · Browsers, hosting and the parts of a web application
  • Lesson 4 · Lab and assignment
  • WEB101 Assessment · How the Web Works

WEB102 · HTML and CSS Foundations (4 h)
Build clean, accessible web pages with semantic HTML and style them with modern CSS, including the box model, Flexbox and Grid. You finish with a one-page site for a local business that you write by hand.

WEB103 · JavaScript Fundamentals (6 h)
Learn modern JavaScript from the ground up: values, functions, arrays and objects, then the DOM, events and fetching data from an API. You will make a static page interactive for a real small-business use case.

WEB104 · Responsive Interfaces and Front-End Frameworks (6 h)
Design interfaces that work on every screen with mobile-first CSS, then build them as reusable components with React and Vite. You will turn a static page into a small component-based app with state and data.

WEB105 · Back-End Development and APIs with Node.js (8 h)
Build a real REST API with Node.js and Express: routing, validation, error handling, middleware, configuration and authentication. You will design and test an orders API for a small business on your own computer.

WEB106 · Databases and Data Modeling for Web Apps (8 h)
Model business data, write effective SQL and connect a database to a Node.js API with migrations and safe queries. You will design, build and query the database for a small online store on your own computer.

WEB107 · Mobile Apps with Cross-Platform Tools (8 h)
Build a mobile app for Android and iOS from one JavaScript codebase with React Native and Expo, including navigation, device features, offline data and your own API. You will create a working loyalty app prototype for a small business.

WEB108 · Testing, Security and Deployment of Web Apps (8 h)
Make your web app trustworthy before real customers use it: automated tests at every level, defensive security based on the OWASP Top 10, and a repeatable deployment with continuous integration. You will harden, test and deploy an app you built earlier.

WEB109 · Final Project: A Full-Stack App for a Small Business (8 h)
Plan, build, test and deploy a complete full-stack application that solves a real problem for a small business, bringing together everything from the program. You finish with a portfolio-ready project, documentation and a short demo video.
